flag Queen's Colour: The Union Flag bearing in the centre a circlet inscribed "Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment" and within the circlet the Battalion Numeral.
Regimental Colour: In the centre of the Colour the Regimental Crest over top of the Regimental Motto, "ONWARD". Both with the National Wreath of Pohutakawa, Kowhai and New Zealand Fern and the whole ensigned with Saint Edward's Crown. The twenty-two battle honours emblazoned, in the upper left corner the Battalion number and the upper right corner the New Zealand Regiment Badge.
   
Badges: Cap badge: A silver kiwi on scarlet background within a circle of garter blue inscribed 'Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment', the whole enclosed by fern fronds and surmounted by a crown. A scroll below inscribed 'Onward'.
Uniform: Red Diamond worn on left arm by all personnel serving with 1 RNZIR and 2/1 RNZIR.
