| | | Ohio Bell Telephone Company - First Issue 1921 ( Now SBC ) | Beautifully engraved RARE certificate from the Ohio Bell Telephone Company issued in 1921. This historic document was printed by the Western Bank Note and Engraving Company and has an
ornate border around it with the company's name on top center. This item has the hand signatures of the Company’s President ( Eugene A. Reed ) and its Secretary. The certificatge was issued to the American Telephone and Telegraph Company. This is the first time we have seen this certificate for sale.
In September 1922, the Ohio Bell Telephone Company was formed. The Ohio Bell Telephone Company became known as Ameritech Ohio, and now is owned by SBC. The company was controlled by the American Telephone and Telegraph Company, and was part of the AT&T; breakup.
