| | | Hawaiian Bell Telephone Company 1880's | Beautifully engraved unissued certificate from the Hawaiian Bell Telephone Company printed in the 1880's. This historic document has an ornate border around it with vignettes of a woman swimming and a wildlife scene. This item is over 113 years old.
Old Hawaiian certificates are very hard to find. All Hawaiian Telephone Companies eventually merged into Mutual Telephone Company. Mutual later became GTE and most recently Verizon. Hawaiian Bell Telephone (1880) drew heated competition from Mutual Telephone(1883) until they merged in 1895 - the first of many to follow.
