The Harlem Transfer Company owned valuable terminals on the Harlem River in New York. In 1905, the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad purchased a controlling interest in the company. The company was serviced by the following railroads:
Baltimore & Ohio via St. George, Staten Island, NY
Delaware, Lackawana & Western via Hoboken, NJ
Erie via Jersey City, NJ
