The Gloucester Ferry Company was incorporated by the legislature of New Jersey to establish a steam-boat ferry from the town of Gloucester, New Jersey to the City of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The company was in the business of ferrying passengers and freight across the Delaware river.
