in 1883. This historic document was printed by the American Banknote Company and has an
ornate border around it with a vignette of surveyors overlooking a valley with trains in the background. This item is hand signed by the Company’s President ( Elijah Smith ) and Secretary and is
over 119 years old.
Certificate Vignette
The Fort Wayne, Cincinnati and Louisville ran from Muncie to Fort Wayne, Cincinnati and Louisville. The line was originally the Fort Wayne, Muncie and Cincinnati railroad. It ultimately became the Lake Erie and Western railroad.
