Certificate Vignette
The Bristol Athletic Association owned the Bristol Boosters minor league baseball team. They were part of the Appalachian League and were champions in 1914. The first Appalachian League started in 1911 and was disbanded on July 15, 1914. The Appalachian League is Class D and was in operations during the following years 1911-1914, 1921-1925, 1937-1955, 1957-1962. The City of Bristol, Virginia has had the following teams: Bristol Boosters, 1911-1913 Bristol State Liners, 1921-1925 Bristol Twins, 1940-1955 Bristol Tigers, 1969-1994
