Pulverized coal fuel, which gained popularity in the middle 1920's, appeared to be the fuel of the future for large applications. In 1926, Power Specialty purchased the Aero Pulverizer Company, gaining the ability to build every principal component of a power generating station steam generation system, except the complete boiler itself.
