Horse Chart for Filet Crochet or Cross Stitch

For a 4 dc mesh, starting chain is 136 plus chain 3 (which will count as first dc of first row) plus chain 2 (for ch-2 of first open mesh). Begin with a double crochet in 9th chain from hook (first open mesh made).

With size 10 thread and a US size 7 steel hook, finished size is about 10 inches x 11 inches. About 231 yards of thread needed for one square.

With size 30 thread and a US size 11 steel hook, finished size is about 9 1/2 inches x 10 1/2 inches. About 202 yards of thread needed for one square.

With worsted weight yarn and a size I hook, finished size is about 40 1/2 inches x 41 1/2 inches.
