formed with HQ at Victoria, BC, by amalgamation of 88th Regiment (Victoria Fusiliers), and 50th Regiment
1920.12.01 reorganised to perpetatuate CEF:
 
  • 1st Battalion at Victoria, perpetuating 12th Battalion CEF
  • 2nd (Reserve) Battalion, perpetuating 48th Battalion CEF
  • 3rd (Reserve) Battalion, perpetuating 67th Battalion CEF
  • 4th (Reserve) Battalion, perpetuating 88th Battalion CEF
  • 5th (Reserve) Battalion, perpetuating 143rd Battalion CEF
  • 6th (Reserve) Battalion, perpetuating 103rd Battalion CEF

renamed for the Colonel-in-Chief, and reorganised as single battalion with companies in Duncan, Nanaimo, Courtenay and Port Alberni
1951.05.04 volunteers raised D Company (CSR), 1st Canadian Highland Battalion
1952.04.01 volunteers raised D Company (CSR), 2nd Canadian Highland Battalion
1954.12.31 absorbed 62nd Anti-Tank Battery RCA and 66 Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RCA, without change of title
