What is a Shell?


A shell is a number of complete stitches all worked into one same stitch. They can be used to create a certain look in a pattern or can be used for the purpose of increasing.

Shells can be made with half double crochet, double crochet, treble, double treble and so forth. Here are some very basic examples:
