This design has nine individual rollers and
springs,
that means each contact point has it own contacting force. If
one spring was to fail the system will still work and this clutch
will still function with only three springs and rollers(but not
recommended).This basic design has been in use for the last 30
plus years, so its proven and we have found no reason why
it can work in this application. It was designed to be the last
one you will have to install, thats what I wanted for my
bike and that how we designed it.
