Can I transfer balances from other credit cards to my Amazon.co.uk MasterCard?

Yes. You will be able to transfer balances up to your available credit limit. However, you cannot transfer balances from other credit cards issued by Halifax plc or Bank of Scotland.

What are the interest rates?

The typical rate for the card is 15.9% APR (variable)

  • There's 0% interest on balance transfers for the first nine months (3% fee applies), 0% on purchases for the first six months, and 15.94% p.a. (variable) thereafter.
  • Please refer to the Conditions for all fees and interest rates.
  • To benefit from the 0% period you must stay within your credit limit and make your monthly payments on time.

What's the credit limit?

When you apply for an Amazon.co.uk MasterCard Halifax plc assess your income and outstanding borrowing commitments and set a credit limit that suits your circumstances. Halifax plc can reassess your credit limit when you've had the card for six months.

Where can I use my card?

There's five ways to use your card:

  • Purchases: use your card anywhere you see the MasterCard sign.
  • Cash machines: withdraw cash using your card and PIN number. Halifax plc charge a cash advance fee each time you withdraw money. Please refer to the Conditions for all fees and interest rates.
  • Online shopping: safe and secure and protected by the Amazon.co.uk MasterCard online fraud guarantee.
  • Abroad: use your card wherever you see the MasterCard sign, or at cash machines. Halifax plc charge a foreign-currency transaction fee. Please refer to the Conditions for all fees and interest rates.
  • Credit card cheques: you may be sent credit card cheques which you can use in the same way as you'd use a normal cheque. They are paid from your Amazon.co.uk MasterCard. Please note that you can't use credit card cheques to make payments against your Amazon.co.uk MasterCard account or any other card issued by Halifax plc or Bank of Scotland and your credit card is not a cheque guarantee card. Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act does not apply to purchases made using credit card cheques. Please refer to the Conditions for all fees and interest rates.
