It's Snowing Pastel Snowflakes

Pastel colored snowflakes? Sure, why not. Crocheted with worsted weight yarn, this snowflake design coaster is large enough to be used with a big mug of hot chocolate. I crocheted examples in pastel colors but you might have other favorite colors in mind to use (or white, if you want your snowflakes to look more like the real ones).

I created a photo how-to for crocheting the group of three picots that I used in the last few rounds of the snowflake pattern:

Vintage Style Tasseled Christmas Ornaments

These vintage tassels would be wonderful Christmas decorations, crocheted with gold, silver or metallic accent thread. These are examples of some of the interesting ways that crocheters of the early 1900s came up with, to crochet tops for single tassels. Now you can recreate some of these for yourself!

Warm Crocheted Headband

This warm head band is crocheted with solid shell stitch rounds, with a contrasting color on the edge. It is a wide headband, great for winter wear.

Multicolor Yarn Crochet Fun

This crocheted scarf can be a fun pattern to play around with some yarn colors, using a multicolor or ombre yarn alternating with a solid color yarn. The multicolor blues yarn that I used in the example is a Red Heart color called Monet, alternating with sections of white yarn. You might enjoy using a different color for each section.

Crocheted Fitted Open Top Hat

I created the dotted look design with crocheted texture stitches, alternating with flat areas of plain single crochet. I designed this open top hat to be a little narrower towards the top so that the hat has a nice fit.

Crocheted Rows of Pine Tree Branches for Towel Topper

I designed two different ways to crochet this Christmas Tree Towel Topper. One is an undecorated tree shape, crocheted with the "full branches" directions. The other option "for more flat branches" is recommended when planning to do a lot of decorating of the tree branches. Ideas given for materials that might be used to decorate the tree.
