Yva Thakurdas - BIOGRAPHY

 

 

Yva Thakurdas is an international, multi-lingual, Global 500 Senior Executive, with over 20 years experience of successfully assisting multinational corporations in the development of complex yet innovative business solutions. She specialises in corporate development (mergers and acquisitions, strategic business planning, joint ventures, strategic alliances, stakeholder management, ITT proposals and contract negotiations); corporate restructuring (operational & financial turnarounds, process efficiencies and business transformation programmes); and the delivery of multi-billion pound cross-functional initiatives in a broad range of vertical markets. Using her expertise, leadership skills and strong technology focus, she has successfully assisted multi-national corporations through strategic changes imposed by mergers and acquisitions; managed and delivered some of the largest European multi-billion, multi-discipline programmes; and worked with the Board of Directors of several global organisations, using her visionary outlook, to establish long-term strategic plans.

 

Yva comes from a distinguished Blue-Chip background of Price Waterhouse Coopers and Ernst & Young, and has created a niche European consulting company establishing strategic partnerships through her highly successful business development acumen. Although she has an extensive expertise in financial services, throughout her career she has worked with a wide range of public and private-sector clients and thus her experience has embraced a range of industry sectors including telecommunications, retail, oil, new media & entertainment. Her fluency in French, German and Russian has led to assignments throughout Europe. She has also worked extensively in the United States and other engagements have taken her further afield to SE Asia and S. America. Yva.s clients have included such leading financial institutions and Global 100 companies as JP Morgan Chase, UBS, CSFB, Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, AXA, Exxon, British Petroleum, General Electric, HSBC, Goldman Sachs, Salomon Smith Barney, LloydsTSB, NatWest, Barclays, Prudential, British Telecommunications, Cable & Wireless, Securities Commission, ICI, Reuters.

 

In recent years, Yva has also used her corporate expertise in consulting to technology and bio-technology companies and their investors in the US and UK, raising funds by negotiating and securing financing from VCs/Investment Banks/Angels, serving as executive management, building organisations and generating strategic relationships and partnerships worldwide, later providing advice on M&A; transactions and restructuring / turnarounds.

 

Yva holds a BA (Hons) and Masters degree from Oxford University, and a Ph.D from Edinburgh University. She has obtained various musical diplomas from the Royal London conservatoires and is an accomplished concert pianist. Other interests include flying, journalism, golf, skiing, ballroom dancing and oenology. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and British Computer Society, has been awarded the Freedom of the City of London, a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Management Consultants, Business Mentor for The Prince's Trust and Business Advisor to the Youth Enterprise Scheme.
