Palestinian Authority Chief Mahmoud Abbas
The Palestinian Authority Chief is to hold talks with French President Nicolas Sarkozy ahead of Paris' international donor's summit.

"(Mahmoud)Abbas will meet Sarkozy on Sunday, attend the conference on Monday, and then fly to London for talks with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown," AFP quoted Abbas' spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeina as saying.

Ninety international delegations are expected to attend the one-day conference which is aimed at raising billions of dollars to help the emergence of a Palestinian state.

Abbas who urged world donors to extend economic support to help reviving Palestinian economy, is expected to receive more than USD 500m in the conference.

The participants are expected to urge Israel, which operates 550 checkpoints in the West Bank to lift the tight siege on Palestinian towns and villages.
