Israel attacks Rafah farms
Israeli forces have killed a farmer in southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah, raising the Palestinians' death toll to six over past 24 hours.

According to Palestinian medics Ali Alsufi, a 55-year-old local farmer in the southern Gaza Strip has died early on Tuesday morning, after the Israeli soldiers opened fire at him.

Israeli army stormed into the eastern Rafah city Tuesday, opened heavy fire onto farmlands, leaving one dead, said local witnesses.

Over the past 24 hours six Palestinians, including Hamas resistance fighters, have been killed by the Israeli army in Gaza.

The Israeli army stepped up attacks on different parts of the Gaza Strip during the week ahead of the so-called Mideast peace summit in Annapolis, Maryland.
