Children of Heaven, a famous movie directed by the prominent Iranian director, Majid Majidi, has been included in US schools curriculums.
Albuquerque middle-schools in the US state of New Mexico have used Children of Heaven for a program called Journeys in Film.
The project has led to very satisfactory results, indulging students in meaningful and functional discussions.
American teachers believe that Children of Heaven has broken down the stereotypes about Iran and Iranian people.
The Journeys in Film program has increased the positive opinion of other countries among US secondary school students and their willingness to meet other people.
US students have also learnt the fact that American customs are not superior to those of other countries.
Majidi's Children of Heaven, which has been screened at many international festivals, was also nominated for the 1998 Academy Award for the Best Foreign Language Film.
