Italian press report the billionaire co-owner of Liverpool, Tom Hicks, is reportedly getting ready for a take over of Italy's AS Roma.
The Dallas business, with an estimated wealth of well over 1 billion dollars, currently co-owns the Premiership giants Liverpool.
According to reports in Italy, Hicks made initial enquiries a few months ago.
However, he is stepping up the pressure to convince Roma President Franco Sense to sell up.
Analysts believe if Hicks succeeds in buying Roma, it will spark the beginning of foreign ownership in Serie A, where all 20 presidents in the top-flight are currently Italian.
