Finland to beef up gun laws
Sat, 10 Nov 2007 02:30:31
15 year olds can buy guns in Finland.
Finland's government plans to raise the age limit for buying fire arms, following a teenager killing eight people in the country's worst school shooting.

Finland's Interior Minister Anne Holmund said that the gun permit age will be raised form 15 to 18 and that minors between 15 and 18 will only be able to carry guns with parental supervision.

After the US and Yemen, Finland has the highest gun ownership in the world.

On Wednesday Pekka-Eric Auvinen killed six of his fellow students and two school staff members with .22 caliber handgun.
