South Africa and Cuba will co-chair a joint Bilateral Commission aimed at boosting their mutual ties, a top South African official says.
South African Foreign affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma together with her Cuban counterpart, Lomas Morales, will co-chair the 5th session of the joint commission to be held later this week in Cape Town, wrote SABC news on Sunday.
Dlamini-Zuma said, "I will co-chair the 5th session of the South Africa - Cuba Joint Bilateral Commission within the context of South Africa's priority to consolidate and strengthen the bilateral political and economic relations between South Africa and Cuba."
The commission is aimed at promoting South Africa as a principled and reliable partner within the framework of the Joint Bilateral Commission for Economic, Scientific, Technical and Commercial Co-operation between the two countries.
