Life in Death Festival: Day of the Dead
A two-day free celebration featuring ofrendas — memorial altars built for deceased relatives, friends and famous people. The festival will also feature dance, demonstrations, food and craft vendors, workshops, and a Calavera poetry contest in memory of people who are still alive. Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. Friday, November 2nd
Vegas Valley Book Festival
The sixth annual event will be held November 2-3. Centered in the downtown Las Vegas Arts District, this two-day festival includes writers, artists, poets and journalists in readings, book discussions, workshops, and spoken word performances. See Web site for more details.

Saturday, November 3rd
Strut Your Mutt
This fun-filled day includes canine-friendly contests, over 40 booths will feature information on health services, rescue groups, pet photography, clothing and as well as demos from Metro K-9, and the Fly 'N Aces fly ball team.
Cost: $4 for one person and one participating dog, $2 each additional dog to participate in contests, $2 all spectators with any number of non-competing dogs, $2 off with donation of dry food, bedding, gently used toys, and medical items which will be distributed to the rescue groups at the event. 5700 E. Las Vegas Odyssey
The 7th annual epicurean event celebrates haute cuisine, wines and fine art at a variety of venues to benefit The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and The Odyssey Foundation’s Scholarship Program for Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, Las Vegas. Saturday, November 10th
Aviation Nation
Presented by the U.S. Air Force and Nellis Air Force Base, Aviation Nation 2007 is the premier air show of the Air Force and one of the largest aviation events in North America. It is free to the public.

Aviation Nation is the capstone event of the U.S. Air Force 60th Anniversary and will be the largest Air Force event of the yearlong celebration. The Nellis AFB - Las Vegas Air Show theme "Heritage to Horizons" commemorates 60 years of air & space power. Through Sunday, November 11th.

America the Beautiful Music Festival
The Clark County Amphitheatre hosts a music festival to benefit Veterans Helping Veterans, featuring live bands, crafts and food vendors, games and more. November 10-11th. Call (702) 407-7589 for more information. A portion of all proceeds will go to benefit local veterans' charities and amenities for the new veteran’s hospital currently under construction.

Anniversary of the Mexican Revolution
Presented by the Mexican Patriotic Committee, this cultural celebration features song, dance and colorful costumes.
