Verifying That a Duplicate Order Has Been Placed

You will receive e-mail confirmations when you place your order, and again when the order ships. When an order placement and a shipment are close together, it may be easy to mistake the e-mails for confirmations of duplicate orders. To see if you have duplicate orders, please check your list of recent orders in Your Account.

Why Do I Have a Duplicate Order?

Duplicate orders are sometimes inadvertently placed using 1-Click shopping. Please be aware that you are actually placing an order when you click the button marked "Buy now with 1-Click." Because 1-Click orders are held for 90 minutes after the last item is added to the order, your confirmation e-mail will not be sent until the 90-minute holding period is over. However, you may always view your orders by clicking the Your Account link.

Duplicate orders may also occur if you use the Shopping Cart. If you receive an error message or our Web site times out while your order is being submitted, it is still possible that the order went through. Please check Your Account to see if the original order appears before attempting to submit the same order again.

Canceling or Returning a Duplicate Order

As long as none of the items have entered the shipping process, you can cancel the duplicate order by visiting Your Account.

If any items in the order have already entered the shipping process, you will not be able to cancel the shipment. However, you can either refuse the duplicate shipment or return it for a refund. Visit our Returns Center for more information.
