The 1,600 acre Las Vegas Motor Speedway is just miles from the Las Vegas Strip, bringing NASCAR racing events to Vegas. The facility includes a 1.5-mile superspeedway, 2.5-mile road course, 1/2-mile dirt oval, drag strip, and Go-Kart tracks.
Construction of the $200 million complex, (using nearly 2,000 tons of concrete) began in 1995. The first NASCAR race held at Las Vegas Motor Speedway was a Truck Series event in 1996.
The Las Vegas Motor Speedway events include the Nascar Nextel Series: UAW - Daimler Chrysler 400, Nascar Busch Series: Sam's Town 300, and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. There are numerous year-round events on the dirt track, the Strip and the Bullring.

Follow I-15 North to Exit 54-Speedway Blvd. The Speedway is about 12 miles north of downtown. You can also take Las Vegas Blvd. up to the Speedway, but traffic is generally horrible there so it's "faster" to take I-15 (Nothing's ever traffic-free here)
From the North:
Follow I-15 South to Exit 54 - Speedway Blvd.
