With the 151 Battalion, Central Alberta Battalion. Trained in Sarcee Camp. Attended England in Oct 1916 where he was with the 50th Battalion. Later transferred to the 2nd. Div C.M.G.C.  He was wounded twice; once on Mar 1917 and the second time August 28,1918 at the Battle of Scarpe.
Discharged 26 March 1919.
