Detailed installation instructions
Want a highly specific guide to install your video player? Just follow these steps - the pictures will show you exactly what to expect:
  1. Click the yellow "Download the Amazon Unbox Video Player" button.

  2. You will be prompted to save a file called AmazonUnboxVideo.exe. Save this file to your desktop.

  3. Once the file has downloaded, go to your desktop and double-click the AmazonUnboxVideo.exe icon to launch the installation process.
If you cannot find the icon on your desktop, Firefox may have saved the icon in a different folder. If so, from the Firefox toolbar menu go to Tools and select Downloads, the Downloads dialog will appear. From this dialog, either click the "Open" link next to the AmazonUnboxVideo.exe download or follow the link to the folder where "All files are downloaded to:" and double-click the AmazonUnboxVideo.exe icon to launch the installation process.

  4. At this point, the installation program will begin. The installation program will start by preparing for the installation and then checking your system's configuration.

  5. Once completed, you will be presented with the following welcome screen. To continue with the installation, click the "Next" button.

  6. Next, you will see the End User License Agreement. It outlines the terms and conditions for the use of the player and for the content you download. Please read this carefully. If you accept, click the round dialog box that says "I Accept the terms of the License Agreement," and then click the "Next" button.

  7. Next you will see the "Choose Destination Location" screen. By default, the Amazon Unbox video player will be installed in the "Program Files" folder on the "C" drive of your computer. If you would like to choose a different folder, you can do so by clicking the "Browse" button and selecting the desired location. (Note - most people install software programs in the "Program Files" folder.) Click the "Next" button to continue.

  8. Next you will be prompted to "Create Desktop Shortcuts". By default, a shortcut to the Amazon Unbox video player will be created for you on your desktop, in the Start Menu, and on the Quick Launch bar. If you would not like to have one of these shortcuts, simply deselect the check box next to the shortcut you would like to remove. Click the "Next" button to continue.

  9. The installation process now has enough information to begin copying files on to your computer. Since the Amazon Unbox video player requires some additional components to download and play videos (such as the Microsoft .Net 2.0 Framework or Windows Media Player 10), your computer may need to have these components installed along with the video player. The installation screen will show you each of the components that will be installed and approximately how long each step should take to complete. Click the "Next" button to continue.

  10. Congratulations, you have successfully installed the Amazon Unbox video player! You should now see the "InstallShield Wizard Complete" screen. By default, the Amazon Unbox video player will launch once you click the "Finish" button. However, if you'd like to launch the video player at a later time, uncheck the "Launch Amazon Unbox Video Player now" checkbox. Click the "Finish" button to complete the installation.

  11. When you launch the Amazon Unbox video player for the first time, you'll see the "Set your personal preferences" screen pictured below. First, provide a name to identify your PC ("Home PC", "Work Laptop", or whatever you like). Next, select a folder to store your downloaded videos (we highly recommend using the folder we selected by default). Last, enter your Amazon.com User Name and Password in the boxes provided. Once you're finished, click the "Ok" box in the lower right corner - and you're done!
