AN INSPIRING MAGAZINE! I CAN SEE WHY PEOPLE LOVE OPRAH!, November 20, 2005
I admit I'm a "novel freak." Can't get enough of Pat Conroy, Dean Koontz, James Patterson, Stephen King ... and then there's the children's authors like J.K. Rowling, M.T. Anderson, Beverly Cleary, Chris Platt and all the rest.
But when it comes to realism, I like to read a true, inspiring story of "like humans" who have problems similar to mine and have overcome in grand style. Those stories are what keep me going back to O! ...
I really think Oprah's a caring person and has a great, all-embracing personality (the key to her success), BUT since there's a picture of her on the front of every issue, that makes her appear vain. I don't like that image of her because I feel it's not the true image to cultivate.
But it's O's magazine and she can do what she wants with it! Who am I to argue with success?
In addition to the inspirational stories, I like being updated on fashion, fads, cooking, important people, world events as they relate to my family, etc.
All in all, an excellent magazine!
