[edit] Biography

Nobuhiko Akizuki is Minami Kotaro's step-brother, who was born on the same day as he is. Thus, Nobuhiko was then chosen by Gorgom to one of the two Century Kings who would battle, with the victor becoming the next Creation King. During their 19th birthday, Nobuhiko and Kotaro were both kidnapped by Gorgom. Kotaro was able to escape, but Nobuhiko was left behind in a state of hibernation, eventually awaken as Shadow Moon. He made his debut in episode 35 and his identity as Nobuhiko was eventually revealed later. During his battle with Black, he defeats Black, seemingly winning and becoming the next Creation King. However, Black recovers from his injuries and returns to battle Shadow Moon once again. Black becomes the Creation King after the Gorgom cave fell on Shadow Moon.

In Kamen Rider Black RX, Shadow Moon returns for a few episodes to try and exact revenge on Kotaro and secretly observed his battle against the monster Ant Runt. He approached Crisis Empire leader General Jak for that opportunity after taking out Gedorian. In the first battle, he overpowered Kotaro before Gedorian crashed the battle with Ant Runt who buried both of them in an anthill until Ridron freed them and Shadow Moon got away. He turned the Crisis Empire monster Mat Bot on the other Crisis Empire officers during their plans to cause a volcano to erupt. For revenge on Shadow Moon, Crisis Empire sent Mat Bot to capture children from a nearby farm and revealed their revenge on Shadow Moon. Shadow Moon was defeated by Black RX when the Revolcane was thrust into Shadow Moon's body. Shadow Moon died, but as a hero when he saved children from an attack from the Crisis Empire. Kotaro carries Shadow Moon's body away as he finally reverts back to Nobuhiko.

In the movie Kamen Rider World, Shadow Moon leads five other revived kaijin in a fight against Kamen Rider ZO and J. He then appears as a giant to fight Kamen Rider J, who ultimately defeats him.

Nobuhiko was played by Takahito Horiuchi and Shadow Moon was voiced by Masaki Terasoma.

Shadowmoon also appears as a nonplayable character in the semi-canonical PS2 game Kamen Rider Seigi no Keifu, in the period of time before his defeat at the end of Kamen Rider BLACK. Masaki Terasoma returned to voice the character.

[edit] Attacks

Like his counterpart, Kamen Rider Black, Shadow Moon also has his own array of attacks.

  • Shadow Punch: Similar to Black's Rider Punch, Shadow Moon would jump to the air and land a straight punch on his target. It was only used in Episode 47.
  • Shadow Kick: Shadow Moon's Rider Kick. Both his feet would charge with blue energy as he hits a devastating front dropkick.
  • Kingstone Flash: Shadow Moon can use his Kingstone to emit blasts of light, blinding his enemies. He used a variation of this move, called the Shadow Flash, to temporarily take control of Battle Hopper.

[edit] Weapons/Gear

  • Satan Saber: Shadow Moon's sword when he fought Kamen Rider Black. It was originally the sword of Birugenia. Shadow Moon took possession of this weapon and killed Birugenia afterwards. It is a red bladed saber with a golden handle.
  • Shadow Sabers: Shadow Moon's twin swords when he fought Kamen Rider Black RX. They are twin red bladed swords with snake like designs along the blade.
  • Battle Hopper: Shadow Moon was able to temporarily take control of Battle Hopper. But after Battle Hopper turned on Shadow Moon, Shadow Moon critically damaged the bike. Battle Hopper then exploded as it rammed itself against Shadow Moon.
