Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC) located in the Washington metropolitan area, one of the nation's most economically vibrant and multicultural regions, NVCC seeks diverse faculty and staff who will advance the college in line with its strategic vision to serve as the Gateway to the American Dream ( http://www.nvcc.edu/depts/planning/NVCC_Strategic_Vision2004-2015_05-11-04.pdf ) for those pursuing access to higher education and careers in high-demand occupations. The largest institution of higher education in Virginia, Northern Virginia Community College served over 60,000 credit students in 2003-04 with a comprehensive array of courses and associate degree programs in the arts and sciences, public services, technologies, nursing and allied health. The college has six campuses&#8212Alexandria, Annandale, Loudoun, Manassas, Medical Education, and Woodbridge&#8212as well as an Extended Learning Institute. Opening in Spring 2006 are two new Education Centers&#8212in Reston and in Arlington. </P> <P CLASS="body"> Faculty members are expected to engage in curriculum and course development, participate in college and campus committees and other activities, and be available to teach day, evening and/or Saturday classes. NVCC strives to meet the educational and training needs of people with differing abilities, education, experiences, and individual goals through a variety of curricula and co-curricula programs and community services. </P> <TABLE CELLPADDING=0 CELLSPACING=0 ALIGN=RIGHT BORDER=0><TR><TD WIDTH=10><IMG SRC="/icons/space.gif" WIDTH=10 HEIGHT=1></TD><TD><IMG SRC="/jobs/profiles/icons/3790/3790image.jpg" ALT="campus image"></TD></TR></TABLE> <P CLASS="body"> Northern Virginia Community College consists of the Alexandria, Annandale, Loudoun, Manassas, and Woodbridge campuses, and the Extended Learning Institute. A sixth campus located in Springfield and dedicated to education in the Medical Technologies is planned. Each campus offers a comprehensive array of student services. </P> <P CLASS="body"> Most offices providing collegewide services are located on or near the Annandale Campus. The president, the dean of Academic and Student Services, the dean of Financial and Administrative Services, the dean of Information Technology, and the director of Marketing and Public Affairs are all housed in the Brault Building on Wakefield Chapel Road. Academic Assessment, Affirmative Action/Minority and Legal Affairs, Budget, Curriculum and Enrollment Services, College Planning, Controller, Grants Development, Human Resources, Institutional Research, and Public Information and Publications are housed in the Brault Building. The offices of the Northern Virginia Community College Educational Foundation are located in the Brault Building, as well. Facilities Planning and Support Services, Media Processing Services, Purchasing, and collegewide Technical Support staff are housed in the Warehouse and TV Technology buildings on the Annandale Campus. The College Financial Aid Office and the Extended Learning Institute are located in the Forbes Office Center, Springfield, Virginia. </P> <P CLASS="body"> The College operates on the semester system with 16-week fall and spring semesters and a shorter summer session. Many of the curricula at NVCC are available on all campuses. Some highly specialized programs are offered on only one or two campuses. </P> <P CLASS="body"> NVCC provides a strong counseling program to assist you in making sound decisions regarding occupational, educational, and personal goals. Counselors work with students to guide them to the curriculum that best suits their needs and interests.
