The College of Notre Dame of Maryland is a Catholic, liberal arts college committed to educating women as leaders. In addition to the traditional Women's College, Notre Dame educates women and men at the undergraduate level through its Accelerated College and Weekend College. Graduate programs in education, management and other fields serve both women and men. LocationLocated on the North Charles Street college corridor in northern Baltimore, Notre Dame's beautiful campus is situated on 58 wooded and landscaped acres in a residential area. The College also holds classes at sites in Anne Arundel, Harford and Saint Mary's counties for part-time students. HistoryFounded and sponsored by the School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSNDs), Notre Dame was established as a four-year college in 1895. The College of Notre Dame of Maryland was the first Catholic college for women in the United States to award the four-year baccalaureate degree. Noncredit ProgramsThe English Language Institute (ELI), which opened in 1983, offers English as a second language and American culture classes. The Renaissance Institute, a noncredit membership program for students age 50 and older, rounds out the College's educational offerings.
