Recently I had a reunion with an old college roommate. We hadn't seen each other for decades, but we chatted happily for four hours, reminiscing about our youthful indiscretions, consuming two bottles of cabernet, and generally having a good time. It had been 40 years since we had shared a flat in Montreal.
