Yale Warns Theater Audiences That Any Weapons on Stage Are Fakes
One week after a Yale University official banned prop weapons from students’ theatrical productions in the aftermath of the Virginia Tech killings, the university has thought better of its decision, according to the Associated Press. Now, Yale says, audiences will be alerted in advance that the guns, swords, and other weapons they see on stage are facsimiles. There’s no indication in the AP report why Yale theatergoers would need such an explanation. —Andrew Mytelka
