Frequently asked questions...
Q. What does the "remember my user name" checkbox on the login page do?
A. When checked, our site will remember your user name (via a cookie placed on your computer) between sessions for one year. You will, however, still need to type your password each time you log out.
Q. Why am I being asked to log in again?
A. Our site allows each account holder to remain logged in on one computer for up to 12 hours, or until:
- you specifically log out by clicking a "log out" on certain pages
- you quit or close your Web browsing software
- your username and password are used on a different computer
Q. Can I share my account with others?
A. The sharing of an account is not permitted and our site will log out multiple users of the same account.
Q. How do I set up my Web browsing software to remember by username and password?
A. The instructions vary, but here are the most common ones:
- Internet Explorer 7 (Windows)
- Click on 'tools' and then scroll down to select 'internet options'.
- Click on the content tab
- Under the 'autocomplete' header, click on settings, and confirm that 'Usernames and passwords on forms' is checked. Click OK to close the autocomplete dialog box, then click OK to close the preferences panel.
- The next time you login, IE will prompt you to save your password.
- If you have problems, you may need to delete your save passwords. This will delete all of your saved passwords for all sites. This can be done in the 'internet preferences' panel. Click on the 'General' tab, then click on the 'delete' button to the right of Browsing History. This will open a dialogue box with the many buttons, the one that removes saved passwords is 'Delete Passwords'. Click on that (and confirm that you want to delete them), then click close to close that dialog box, then click 'OK' to close the internet options' preferences panel.
- Firefox (Macintosh)
- Click on 'Firefox' in the top left hand side of the menubar and scroll down to select 'preferences'
- In the preferences panel, select the 'privacy' tab. Then select the 'Passwords' tab in the submenu and make sure that the 'Save passwords' checkbox is checked.
- Safari (Macintosh)
- Select 'Preferences' under the 'Safari' menu in the menubar.
- Click the autofill tab.
- Check the 'username and passwords' check box.
- Close up the preferences panel, and login to the site. It will prompt you to save the username and password. Click yes.
