Description: Asian Americans For Equality is a community-based, nonprofit organization founded in 1974 to advocate for equal opportunities for minorities. Evolving from a purely voluntary, grassroots beginning, AAFE continues to improve the quality of life for immigrant communities throughout New York City. Serving an estimated 20,000 people annually, AAFE's programs and services include housing development, homeownership, comprehensive social services, civil rights, economic development and technical assistance. AAFE operates out of four locations in the Chinatown/Lower East Side areas of Manhattan and Flushing, Queens. All services are provided in English, Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, Hindi, and Urdu.
