Anyways, here are my SMX Sessions.

Cymbals:
14" AA Rock hats
22" HH Powerbell ride
16" AAXPlosion crash
16" HHX Power crash
17" AA Fast crash
18" HH Rock crash
19" AA Metal-X crash
18" AA china
18" AA Fast china
10" AA splash
7" Stage bell
Mike Portnoy Max Stax mid
Hardware:
Pearl Icon rack and stands, Pearl throne, Tama IC pedals.
Next on the to buy list are coated G2 batters and G1 clear reso's for the toms, EMAD's on the kick batters w/ pearl's white reso's on the front. Also want 12" and 14" mini-chinese cymbals, and a remote hi hat pedal and another set of hats.

Thanks everyone for the nice compliments.
The Tama snare is a beautiful instrument. It has a very wide tuning range, the snares respond very well and speak clearly thru all dynamics, and you can really hear the warmth of the shell playing crossticks. The kicker has to be the rimshots. They just bark with this snare. The only thing is, I love playing rimshots and its starting to take its toll on the cherry hoop. I would like to buy another snare soon and keep the Tama for special occasions, or whatever. Ive been thinking about either a 6.5x14 pearl ultracast, 6.5x14 Remo (acousticon I think...some kind of hybrid shell) or a 8x14 tama g-maple. Has anyone played any of these models?
I also want to add 12" and 14" chinas to my setup. Does anyone have any suggestions for certain models to check out? I like more hiss than clang out of my chinas, and have been leaning towards the AAX line. Any ideas?

What about getting a die-cast batterside hoop for the snaredrum and use it while you're practising, and only use the cherry for gigs? We don't really need all that perfect gear when practising.

Thats a good idea. I wonder what it would do to the snare, sound wise.

It will provide a sharp, striking and very direct sound.
