i realy need some opinions on picking out bass heads. Heres the deal, i have 2 26in. maple bass drums and want a nice deep sound. I know they are big and shallow so i need and ubber deep head to kinda balance the sound out. so cmon give me some opinions other then the normal "Aquarian Super Kick"

the Evans site has a great guide to how their heads sound. http://www.evansdrumheads.com/, emad 2s, emad coated, or hydraulic should give you a super low sound, dunno about the other co.s, I've only really looked into evans

aquarian blow (they just make nice 'thud'), evans all the way. i like the EQ3, but the emad 2 kit is also freaking sweet.

try to keep some click though. i've had a bit of trouble lately getting a sound that's not too muddy, and that's just with a 22"!

EQ4 Batter Coated or clear

hey, how are those 26"s? I've been planning on getting some 24"s, but slaughterofdreams says they'll just sound like mud that big... would you say your big fellers have a good tone? free of mud?

they dont have the best tone being as the heads are just remo weatherkings but they are not muddy at all. Usaly 24's and 26's are alot more shallow then the normal 22's. if ya get a 24 ya might want to shallow it up or it could sound liek one big mess. They are 26 but very shallow so you get alotta attack but not a huge deep note. 24's arent bad at all shit Cannibal Corpse uses them and they sound great!
