satan_is_lust, is that Gibraltar bass drum practise pad any good? I've been thinking of getting one. Also, if anybody else has experience of any others, I'd like to know.

its pretty good. It wobbles a little if you hit it really hard but other than that it is fine
|

Here's mine...I'm using Trick pedals now though and I have a Tama rythm watch I'm borrowing to practice with too. I need another Gibraltar practice pad and I'll be set.

Yes I do, and I also put my double pedal on there for double bass and independence exercises.

Let's just say I attempt to do independence exercises! Right now I'm working on doing independent stuff with my left foot while blasting, but I was only given those exercises yesterday, so it sounds like total crap when I try them.

Of course we like independence stuff! I love practicing everything but metal sometimes when i'm in a bad rut for speed or whatever.
More interesting, I like metal cause of the awesome chops and endurance you get, and the style anyway
