i was curious of anyone has any good recording stories?

the first time i was in the studio, i found out that i have a weird habit of humming the bass line. we'd start recording, the engineer would stop me, we'd look for the source of the "weird noise...." checked out my equipment, put foam in my rack to reduce resonance, got rid of drums i wasn't using, and so on. after about a half-hour... he looked at me and asked something like "are you humming?" i was like, "oh fuck...." it was pretty damn funny later on, at the time i was bummed because we wasted a bunch of money in the studio.

anyway, how about you guys, anything really stupid or funny?

Hah, I snap and grind my teeth to drum beats too, sometimes you can get a pretty convincing beat out of your teeth...lol. Oh well, I guess we all have our bad habits.

Oh yeah, I use the left side of my teeth for bass beats and my front teeth for a snare pop. Damn I just realized I was doing it as I was typing. Hah.

I do the same exact thing....especially when I'm either doing a blast or fast double bass...without my control I automatically start humming for some reason. I always knew I kind of did it, but I never thought it was that bad til we were in the studio like 5 years ago recording our 2nd demo, on the playback the overheads were picking up some weird noise and we kind of isolated it and it was me humming.

I felt like a jackass, haha but I still do it til this day...and I don't know why.

I do the same thing with my teeth sometimes, it's an awful habit, it can cause a lot of damage to your teetch, I've worn grooves into my molars from doing it.

I guess my bad habit is I have the "weight lifter" symptom. I breathe in and out really heavy when I'm playing. I remember we'd be recording some B.S. stuff and Tim would look at me and go, "Why the hell does it sound like the wind is blowing in this recording?"
