I need your help, guys! I'm seriously concidering an E-kit for practicing/recording at home and small club gigs etc. The problem is, there are som many to choose from! The Roland TD-20-kit is supposably the badest motherfucker around, but I'm afraid that it is a bit too expencive. Or is it really worth the money? If so, I guess it's an option after all..
Are there any other brands or combinations between drums and modules that you would reccomend that can save me some cash, but at the same time get me the quallity I'm looking for?
I want it to sort of feel as natural as possible, and have a wide range as far as dynamics go... Oh, and of course sound as natural as technology allows.
There's also a question of where to purchase the damn thing. I'm a norwegian fellow, and stuff like this is expencive up here.
I checked some prices when I was in London earlyer this year, but it seemed as though there weren't much money to be saved from purchasing over seas... _________________ -V- |

I can tell you this much:
At home I have a Legend brand e-kit. I would never let it see the light of day but it's a hell of a lot better than playing my bed matress at night time.
A friend of mine has a Roland e-kit that he uses for everything and it sounds amazing. I was having so much fun playing the snare with the mesh head on it
Another friend of mine has an e-kit for night practice, but I can't remember the name. It was VERY comfortable to play on. I'll have to ask him when I see him or the next time we're online. _________________ You can play in odd time signatures so that makes you a nerd by default and therefore your opinion doesn't count. |

the roland kits are well worth it. yamaha's have a shocking hi-hat and a few other niggles. if i had the money, i'd probably make a kit out of old school simmons octagon pads and an alesis dm5 for a good mid-range value hitter. _________________ At least I'm not emo.
