To serve your needs better, Korean Overseas
Information Service (KOIS) has entirely reorganized Korea.net,
the official English homepage of the Korean government
effective July 14, 2004. Some details on the new features
and services are: |

The newly revised Korea.net features four
main menus: News, Korea,
Directory, and Multimedia
Center.
Two service menus, My and
Community, are added to serve
your personal needs and communication between and among
Korea.net users.
The purpose of this format is to help you utilize our
site more conveniently, provide you with more effective
links to information and menus, and enhance the quality
of overall service.
Please consult the following to find more about the menus
and new services we¡¯ve added. |

The News section,
which covers general news items, has sub-categories
such as Government Press Releases,
Nation, Foreign
Affairs, Finance,
Economy, Arts,
Science/Tech, Travel/Sports/Dining,
Society, Opinion,
Features, and Foreign
Reports on Korea. Issues,
another sub-menu group, deals with special focus on
matters and issues. News Forum is an addition that allows members to voice out opinions.

New functions like Save,
Forward, and Print
have been added for your convenience.
|
|
On the basis of frequency of views, comments and
clips you save, Top 10 News
appears on the right side of the page. This
will enable you to easily access developing news.

We have added new features like Comment
and News Forum to invite
your comments and encourage the exchange of opinions
between and among our visitors. |

The Korea section
features major information on Korea under the
headings of General,
President, Government,
Korea and the World,
Biz & Economy,
Society, Culture,
Arts, Tourism,
and Sports & Recreation.

Linkage services to related news and sites are
displayed on the right hand side of the Korea
menu for easier access to the desired sites.

|
As in the News menu,
function keys like Save,
Forward, and Print
have been added for your convenience.

On the basis of frequency of views and clips you
save, Top 10 Korea appears
on the right side of the page. This will enable
you to easily access Korea contents. |

The Government Publications service provides you
with over 250 publications issued by central and
local government organizations, offering a variety
of information, available in several languages,
on Korea¡¯s politics, economy, culture, society,
history and tourism.

We have also added Target
Service and A to Z Index
services to our Directory. |

Target Service will
basically provide overseas visitors with information
tailored to individual needs. This sections includes
Travel, Business, Study, Employment, Immigration,
and Press. |

The A to Z Index
archives all the content of Korea,
Multimedia Center, and
Library menus in alphabetical
order. |

Popular Searches
and Recommended Searches
will help your search efforts. Recommended
sites in the area of your interest are added.

lists over 250 publications
issued by central and local government organizations.

To provide you with one-stop
multimedia service, the Multimedia
Center brings together all multimedia materials
offered on Korea.net, including e-Books, PDF (portable
document format), slides, wallpapers, and sounds.

You can read books and magazines in various digital
formats, such as PDF, e-Books, and HTML pages. All the photographs carried on various contents
of Korea.net are collected here.

Content use requests, previously made through
e-mail only, can now be filed online on this menu;
approval/disapproval may be confirmed on My
menu.

|

|
|
My menu is another
addition to Korea.net. It is designed to promote
membership and enhance the site¡¯s usefulness for
members.
|
|
Once registered as a member, you can update/revise
your personal information and manage your submissions
on various bulletin boards.
|
|
You can personally manage all the pages saved
from other parts of Korea.net.
|
|
After saving the contents desired for personal
use, you can file content use requests for them
at My. Approval or disapproval
may also be confirmed here.

|
My Diary on My
menu provides you with online space to manage your
personal calendar. Through this page, you can also
check Korea.net-sponsored event schedules.

The Community menu
features greater communication space, such as Sharing
Experiences, Forum,
and Photo Album. |

Each bulletin board offers Comment
functions, where you can make comments. The comments
registered on the bulletin boards will be grouped
by Date and By
Thread formats for your convenience. |
