NEH OFFERS $1-Million: The National Endowment for the Humanities has announced that it will provide at least $1-million in aid for cultural institutions affected by Hurricane Katrina.

Emergency grants of up to $30,000 will be available for libraries, museums, colleges, universities, and other cultural and historical institutions. The money is intended to preserve books, manuscripts, and any other cultural artifacts damaged by the storm.

Application materials for the grants are available on the NEH's Web site.
