Print Australia member Gosia from Perth was one of the finalists for the Roche Contemporary Art prize in April, 2001. As she was coming to Sydney for the opening night, it was decided that we would co-incide her visit with the inaugural Print Australia picnic. This gave us all an opportunity to put faces to the names we had been conversing with via e-mail.

Victoria (Vixen) volunteered to organise
the day and a program of activities was planned which gave all of
us an opportunity to meet for at least some of the day.
We started by meeting on the front steps of the Art Gallery of
New South Wales (AGNSW) and from there we all moved to the print
room for a prearranged viewing of selections from the collection.
Then we had morning tea in the members room as guests of Judy. By
the time we met again on the front steps everyone who was coming
had arrived and we walked to the Cafe in the Botanical Gardens
and had an outdoor luncheon in the glorious Sydney autumn
sunshine.

so intently are the Code of Ethics from
the Quebec printmakers, and a volume from Patricia's thesis.)
Following the luncheon, we were invited to visit the studio of Crown Street Press as Victoria's guests where we viewed the facilities and examples of the studio output.
