‘Ancestral Archives’ - CDs
Derbyshire

This webpage describes a series of CDROMs of transcriptions of parish registers, and other useful material for family history research in Derbyshire, produced by private Family History researchers Helen Betteridge and Jean Shannon.

Information is transcribed from original sources in the County Record Office at Matlock, with the kind permission of the archivist, who also agrees to them being available for purchase. Parish register extracts are of the highest quality, and entries are transcribed directly from the original registers themselves, rather than microfilm, which would be the usual medium for searching them.

The CDs fall into two categories - Parish Registers, and Social History. The focus is on the Derby area, but items are also available for the Chesterfield, High Peak, Ashbourne, and South Derbyshire areas.

I hope very much that you will find something of interest here.
