New Coordinators at StarTutor

We are pleased to announced that we have 9 new tuition coordinators who have joined us. They will be helping you to find your ideal tutor so you can expect to work closely with them. We would also like to thank all the interview candidates for coming down for the interview session two weeks ago. For those who have sent in emails enquiring about the coordinator position, we have officially marked the end of our recruitment drive. Thank you.

Happy Birthday to StarTutor

We're officially 2! Since our inception, we have enjoyed working with many of you - customers as well as tutors. We appreciate all your continuous support and feedback and aim to serve you better even as we grow. With this opportunity, we would also like to wish all students academic excellence in the years to come!

Subjects Added and Tutor Registration Updated

After getting feedbacks from parents, we have updated the subjects tutors can teach and customers can request for.
For A level, Geography, Literature and Accounting have been added.
For O level, Literature, Geography, Science (for sec 1 and 2) has been added. Furthermore, Combined Science has been replaced with Phy/ Chem and Bio/ Chem.

The tutor registration form has also been updated. Entry of qualification is now easier and more convenient with the help of specific qualification entry fields. It will not differ the current tutor profiles as the system will automatically format it nicely to to a single qualification entry.

Rates Table Updated

We have updated the rates table to include the rates for different type of tutors: Undergraduates, Full-time Tutor and Teacher. The rates listed are the current market rates. Our system keeps a history of the rates the tutors have quoted us so we are able to provide an accurate range.
You will also notice that the rates listed are now regardless of the number of subjects. Therefore, if you request for more subjects, each subject will receive less focus within the same amount of time.

After First Lesson

We have observed that parents are generally concerned with what it will happen after the first lesson. Therefore, we need to clarify that there is no contract which requires parents and tutors to complete a minimum number of lessons. If parents intend to terminate the tuition lesson, parents only need to pay for the lessons given by the tutors without any extra fee incurred. Our FAQ has been updated for more information.
