"The Counterfeit Rockefeller: Christopher Rocancourt"

Christopher Rocancourt surfaced in Los Angeles eight years ago. He cut a wide swath in a short time. Rocancourt managed to convince some members of the Hollywood elite that he was either a movie producer, a financier, or an international businessman. He changed identities as seamlessly as he changed his alleged occupations. At various times, Rocancourt claimed he was the son of Sophia Loren or the nephew of Dino De Laurentiis. He even played himself. By 1996 though, law enforcement was suspicious. In May 1997, the LAPD searched Rocancourt's $75,000-per-month suite at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. Below is some of the evidence from that search as described by George Meuller, an investigator at the office of the L.A. District Attorney.
