Condit settles suit against tabloids
Ex-congressman Gary Condit settled a libel suit in September 2004 against tabloids that connected him to intern Chandra Levy's death. Condit had claimed in a $209 million suit that the papers ruined his career by alleging their affair.

Judge dismisses libel lawsuit by Condit's wife
A judge dismissed a libel lawsuit filed by the wife of former Rep. Gary Condit against USA Today. Carolyn Condit filed the suit in New Mexico because of a state law that lets plaintiffs sue up to three years after a published report. However, Judge Bruce Black ruled the state had no jurisdiction over the case.
