News: 7-2-2007 IZW LIVE!! This Monday!! WWE Prizes!

HeadlinesImpact Zone Wrestling, an Arizona based pro-wrestling organization in conjunction with the IZW wrestling school has signed 8 individuals to WWE including Melina, Luther Reigns, Mike Knox, and Justin Roberts. Various superstars such as John Cena, The Miz, A-Train, Tito Santana, Big Bossman, Greg Valentine, Jimmy Snuka, Deuce (of Deuce and Domino) and more have performed in the IZW ring. The Arizona New Times newspaper awarded IZW as the best place to catch a rising WWE superstar and that is so true.

This Monday night, Impact Zone Wrestling prepares for the return of World Wrestling Entertainment, their first appearance in the Grand Canyon State since March. Do not miss out when Smackdown! and ECW invade the U.S. Airlines Arena in Phoenix, AZ, on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 (and their first appearance in Prescott Valley, on Sunday, July 29). This is your chance to win some cool prizes, including tickets to the up-coming shows!

Scheduled on the card is the biggest IZW World championship match of the year so far. On April 10, Fearless Jack Bull made a surprise return by attacking IZW Champion "Hawaiian Lion" John Williams. Since then, the two have been engaged in a game of cat & mouse, which came to a head and resulted in Bull pinning Lion, much to the shock of the crowd. The battlelines are drawn, and this Monday, Lion defends more than his championship belt: he defends his pride.

Meanwhile, tensions across Impact Zone Wrestling are on the rise! Conflicts between Lil' Nate & Lawrence Tyler, REDRUM & G. Q. Gallo, and Dread Pirate Bernie & Lehi David Smith have not been settled, and this Monday, they are all expected to be in attendance.

Typically, IZW action takes place at The Sets (next to LA Fitness Mill/Southern) in Tempe, AZ every other Tuesday at 7:30pm. (EXCEPT THIS WEEK; IZW will take place this MONDAY, JULY 2nd!!) Tickets are only $7 at the door and all ages are welcome. Food and beverages are available as are televisions, pool, ping pong, darts and more!

This and so much more will provide great entertainment for you and your entire family! Come to The Sets this Monday night to catch the Superstars not only of today, but also tomorrow! Be sure to arrive early, because seating is limited! Thank you for your support!

 News: IZW Detailed Report

By Ed The K

The show started with a special announcement that for the entire evening (sans the main event) each match would be a tag team encounter. The first of these matches was a Lucha Libre encounter with El Chucky, Fly Boy, and Caudillo against Rudy Escobedo, Black Angel, and Payaso Assesino. The luchadors' athleticism was balanced by their classic antics. In the end Chucky, Caudillo, and Fly Boy simultaneously pinned Payaso, Rudy Escobedo, and Black Angel, respectively.

The next match saw collisions amongst rivals: Dread Pirate Bernie versus Lehi David Smith and Mike G versus Judo Jimmy Daniels. Of course, Bernie teamed with Mike and LDS teamed with Judo, and before the match began, both partnerships had unique interaction. Judo ate some pages of LDS's Good Book (perhaps thinking "good" referred to its taste) while Mike tried to teach Bernie the simple dance steps of "elbows out, side to side," but Bernie failed to master the subtly and turned it into a jig. But once the bell rang, the tensions between the rivals took center stage. Bernie and LDS fought across the floor, then all the way to the back, and finally straight out the door, leaving Mike G alone with Daniels, enabling him to hit a devastating neckbreaker for the pinfall.

Next, Peter Goodman lectured Jacob The Riot Herzberg and The Marty about the difference between being willing to win a match and being willing to do anything to win a match. That advice carried them into their match against Tony Trouser and Hollywood with his reluctant valet Tommy Drake. In keeping with Goodman's advice, Drake was ready, willing, and able to break the rules for the rookies to win if it could get him out of the dress. It seemed Drake had succeeded when Marty pinned Trouser after belting him with brass knuckles, but Hollywood got the referee to find the illegal object on Marty; thus causing a reverse decision in favor of himself and Trouser. Close but no cigar, for Tommy Drake and the P. G. rookies.

The next match pit Lil' Nate and Jay Garland against "XXX" Lawrence Tyler and Peter Goodman. All four men have a rich history with the other participants, except Nate and LT. In fact, those two kept their distance from the other for the most part, instead trying to top the other in exchanges with their opponent. Eventually, their paths crossed and it quickly turned into a brawl that sent both men up the aisle and to the back. In the end, Goodman picked up the win with his spin kick after withstanding a modified Cloverleaf.

After intermission, IZW World champion "Hawaiian Lion" John Williams teamed with Navajo Warrior to face two men that have badgered him throughout his entire title reign. Although Fearless Jack Bull seemed more willing to brave the ring than in previous months, it was not without his trademark reluctance. Inevitably, though, he and Lion were forced into a showdown.

Suddenly, the whole cat-and-mouse game took a decisive turn. In fact, the long-running spiel was a mere ruse. In reality, Fearless Jack Bull is one of the big dogs. He proved that as he planted Hawaiian Lion with a DDT for the pinfall. Immediately upon his victory, he shed the cowardly facade and dropped the IZW World championship upon the chest of our fallen champion with an official challenge for next Monday, July 2nd.  After the match, Lion left the ring, abandoning the championship as well, taking Bull's ruse as a personal affront, and rightly so, as Jack Bull's actions for the past few months have been nothing more than an insult, a statement that he does not think Lion can run with the big dogs.  Now, Lion wants nothing more than to prove to Bull, to the fans, and to himself that Jack Bull is wrong! The championship is secondary now, this has gotten very personal.

IZW Tag Team champions Bump 'N' Grind defended the titles against Lucha and Mucha of The Order of REDRUM. Preparing to enter the fourth month of their reign, Morgan and Erica D'Erico seemed unbeatable; although they have never faced a team with a manager as cagey as Beaver Las Vagas. Both teams utilized countless double-team maneuvers to their benefit, but in the end, it was a time-tested switcheroo that made the difference. Bump 'N' Grind grounded Mucha Reigns with a Sidewinder, but Beaver distracted the referee to prevent a count. As Morgan and Erica disputed with the referee, Lucha Reigns took his brother's place, so as Erica attempted to finish him off, he counteracted with an easy Hasta La Vista for the pinfall.

The main event was one of the most hard-hitting encounters in recent memory. In fact, G. Q. Gallo did not even wait for the introductions to begin as he tore into his opponent. The men fought outside the ring with the same ferocity as they fought inside the ring. Both men seemed to be making equal progress towards victory, but after Gallo hit a Fallaway Slam into Samoan Drop, he prepped REDRUM for his football punt. Beaver Las Vagas tried to interfere, but Gallo pulled him into the ring. As the referee tried to separate them, Redrum struck the referee from behind to eliminate him from the equation, at least temporarily.

REDRUM instructed Beaver Las Vagas to hold G. Q. Gallo in position for his Deathkick, but Gallo moved at the last moment, letting Beaver take the brunt. Redrum tried a clothesline, but Gallo rolled out of the way and grabbed Beaver's cane. Gallo struck Redrum with the cane, right after the referee regained consciousness. The referee called for the bell. Oblivious to the fact that Redrum blatantly knocked him down from behind, the referee disqualified G. Q. Gallo to award the match to the man Hell conceived.

Since the feud between G. Q. Gallo and REDRUM has reached a boiling point, the IZW Board of Directors have sanctioned a match between the two rivals for tonight-Tuesday June 19th! While Gallo has an established reputation for giving his all in the ring, REDRUM has been known to take everything from his opponents, including their soul.

Meanwhile Triple XXX Lawrence Tyler and Lil' Nate have had a hard time being in the same place at the same time without causing problems for the other. The likelihood of coming to terms with their disagreement is slim-to-none, which means both men will be aiming to answer the proverbial question: "can you top this?"

Come see all your favorite IZW wrestlers, including Tony Trouser, Hollywood, Peter Goodman, and Bump 'N' Grind defending their IZW Tag Team championship, and more this TONIGHT!

 News: IZW Detailed Report 6/5/07

HeadlinesBy Ed The K

IZW Tag Team champions Morgan and Erica D'Erico served as guest ring announcers for the evening, but as they announced the main event as a Survivor Series match-up, Fearless Jack Bull boldly came into The Sets in a wheelchair. He announced that he was unable to compete, in accordance to Dr. Zhivago's wishes, but he said that the IZW Board of Directors said, "we kinda don't believe that your kidneys are bruised in 73 places." Therefore, they requested a urine test. Unfortunately, the sample wound up in the hands of IZW World champion "Hawaiian Lion" John Williams. Immediately, the situation told Jack Bull, "Urine trouble!" As one thing led to another, Lion tossed the sample into the face of the man who will not return his championship belt.

The action began with Lehi David Smith and Sister Destiny marching into battle against Dread Pirate Bernie. Two weeks ago, LDS cost Bernie a match against Peter Goodman, and this match was a rematch from the 5/8 show. In the end, Lehi David Smith came out on top after an assist from Destiny saved him from certain defeat. Although to her credit, Destiny refrained from outside interference for the better portion of the match, saving herself for when it mattered the most.

Moving into the next match, Morgan had the chore of introducing "The Eclipse" Matthew Kraven, and she handled the task like a professional. In fact, there was no incident between Kraven and the tag champions as Mike G was introduced. While Jack Bull might have made short work of Mike G at the last show, Matthew Kraven found out why Mike is such a dangerous competitor. Kraven dominated much of the match, but he had trouble keeping Mike G down for the three, and before long, he found himself on the receiving end of a pinfall. After the match, Judo Jimmy Daniels attacked Mike G from behind. Mike G scared him off by throwing his shoes at Judo, and as he and Eclipse retreated to the back, Matthew Kraven told Mike G that he would see them again in the ring.

In his first IZW match since January 2007, Lil' Nate faced Mucha Reigns with Beaver Las Vagas ringside. While he was gone, Lil' Nate has not lost a single step, which proved to be a necessity in picking up a win over the Order of REDRUM. Mucha came very close to defeating Nate on more than one occasion, but in the end, Nate sidestepped Mucha and then planted him with a Size 11 Waffle to pick up the win. Unfortunately, his victory celebration was short changed when "Triple XXX" Lawrence Tyler blasted him with a monstrous clothesline and laid him out. Guys from the locker room helped Nate to the back as intermission began.

After the break, Tony Trouser prepared to face Jacob The Riot Hertzberg. Before the bell, Trouser took the mic to let Jacob know how much respect he had for him from their Impact Zone Idol match-up on 3/27. Hertzberg, however, did not reciprocate the feelings. He voiced his disgust with Trouser's wrestling and the crowd's voting, starting the match with a slap across the face. From there, the match took a different course than the two saw 6 weeks ago, but the end result remained the same as Tony Trouser pinned Jacob after an amazing Drop Trou off the top rope. In accordance with Peter Goodman's challenge, his win places Trouser in line for a rematch with The Marty.

The next match featured the debut of Tommy Drake as Hollywood's dress-wearing valet. Per the stipulation of their prior encounter, Drake was forced to serve as Hollywood's valet for as long as Hollywood wins. Therefore, Drake had a personal interest in a victory for Judo Jimmy Daniels. But as Drake attempted to assist Judo, Hollywood wised up to the situation and he was able to persevere by avoiding his vindictive valet and by pinning Jimmy Daniels after a Dominator.

The main event saw Fearless Jack Bull and Jon VonCross team with the Order of REDRUM to face IZW World champion Hawaiian Lion, Navajo Warrior, G. Q. Gallo, and Jay Garland in a Survivor Series elimination match. With the amount of mass and personal issues amongst the eight men, the match was a brawl waiting to happen. At first, it appeared that Lion and his teammates could get a clean sweep as he forced Lucha Reigns to tap out and then Navajo Warrior pinned VonCross with a Monument Valley Driver.

Immediately after the second elimination, Fearless Jack Bull cradled Navajo Warrior to lower the deficit to three-on-two. He and REDRUM evened the odds after Jay Garland was pinned by a Deathkick. Then G. Q. Gallo stepped into the ring with REDRUM, but the two wound up fighting halfway to the back where they were counted out. Their elimination left Hawaiian Lion and Jack Bull for each of their respective teams, but VonCross quickly interfered. Then, Navajo Warrior returned to keep things even, leaving the referee with no alternative but to throw out the entire match, but when the Order of REDRUM returned in mass, all Hell broke loose. The entire locker room flooded the ring to pull the parties apart so eventually, the ring was cleared of everyone except Lawrence Tyler.

Hoping to bask in the glory, LT was in for a reality check when he turned around to face Lil' Nate. Nate quickly ejected LT from the ring., permitting himself to end the night alone in the ring and to get the last laugh at Tyler's expense.

Meanwhile, IZW World champion "Hawaiian Lion" John Williams is back! While the Lion was competing overseas, Fearless Jack Bull entered the ring for the first time since his return. These two have yet to compete on the same card, but that will change this Tuesday, June 5th when they both step into the ring. Come watch all of this unfold, and see your favorite IZW stars such as Hollywood with Tommy Drake as his valet, G. Q.  IZW Detailed Report

Sent in by K

Impact Zone Wrestling started celebrations for its three-year anniversary at The Sets with a few special announcements, including that IZW World champion "Hawaiian Lion" John Williams was overseas for an Oriental tour, featuring the top talent in Japan, such as The Great Muta.  However, pseudo-champion "The Fearless One" Jack Bull interrupted once again.  He and Jon Von Cross came to the ring.  With the assurance that Lion was on the other side of the world, Bull showed the bravado his moniker implied.

Fearless Jack Bull invited Mike G to the ring for an overdue "wrestling clinic."  Mike G has been the uncrowned King of Upsets in the past several months, pinning a host of tough opponents including Cowboy Jack Durango in his first match after losing the IZW championship.  However, Mike suffered one big boot to the face and never recovered.  Bull unceremoniously dethroned the King of Upsets after a DDT or two.  Although he may come off as a delusional bum, Bull is the biggest threat to Hawaiian Lion's reign because he is a perennial top contender.  If Lion forgets that fact, then we will crown a new champion instantly.

The next contest saw "Feature Presentation" Jay Garland face Lehi David Smith.  After sustaining an opening onslaught of pin attempts, including a sleek victory roll, LDS bailed outside.  LDS tried to control the match by changing speeds, but Garland is versatile enough that he can switch gears on a whim.  Lehi focused on Garland's arm, but Garland kept frustrating him with unexpected offense.  In the end, Garland tried for an avalanche in the corner, but Lehi evaded him and pinned him with a double-leg trip takedown (and his feet on the ropes).

A few months ago, "The Institution" G. Q. Gallo was scouting opponents for the next name on his Questlist, which was the night REDRUM blinded him with the mysterious red mist.  As a result of that sneak attack, Gallo was sidelined but now that he is back to wrestle, he was ready to Redrum as the next name on his Questlist.  However, Beaver Las Vagas had other ideas.  Speaking on behalf of The Order, Beaver said Redrum was not in the building but instead offered Lucha Reigns as a substitute.

Years ago, G. Q. Gallo and Lucha Reigns teamed regularly, but nowadays, they are virtual strangers.  As such, Gallo was not prepared for the cunning tactics that Lucha has adopted since joining The Order of REDRUM.  Lucha went for his Hasta La Vista, but Gallo countered it for the Swinger, but Lucha countered with a knee strike to regain momentum.  Beaver Las Vagas interfered as necessary to keep that momentum, yet Gallo rallied against the odds, but as he positioned Lucha for his trademark punt, Beaver yanked Lucha from the ring.  Then, REDRUM appeared seemingly out of nowhere to attack Gallo from behind, causing the match to be thrown out.  Jay Garland tried save Gallo to return the favor from the last show, but The Order cut him off before he could assist, laying both of them to waste in the middle of the ring.

Tony Trouser came to the ring ready for his rematch, knowing The Marty had been added to the roster.  However, when he called out his opponent, Peter Goodman answered the call.  Goodman (with Marty and Jacob The Riot Hertzberg in tow) explained to the rookie that he cannot make demands from the Board; however, with P. G. Productions as the primary sponsor, Goodman could.  As such, he was the reason Marty and Jacob have been added to the roster.  Goodman explained that Trouser was at the bottom of the roster, so he had to answer to people higher up, and as his senior, he said Trouser would face Hertzberg (not Marty) in two weeks.  Thus, Trouser did not have the night he expected to have, but he sure had the night that Peter Goodman expected him to have!

The next match saw the same Peter Goodman wrestle his first IZW match since March 27th.  His opponent was the highly capable Dread Pirate Bernie.  Although Bernie manhandled Goodman in the beginning stages of the match, there is no substitute for experience, and Goodman took advantage of a rookie mistake to seize control.  However, Bernie weathered all Goodman could deliver and he floored Goodman with a Reverse Legsweep.  Unfortunately, the referee was predisposed with Lehi David Smith.  As Bernie realized the official was unable to count, he went after LDS but LDS his him with a hot shot off the ropes, enabling Goodman to land his spin kick for the pinfall.

Tommy Drake and Hollywood have had a long feud brewing, and Tommy Drake saw fit to settle their differences in a Loser Wears a Dress match, where the loser would also have to serve as the winner's valet.  Hollywood obliged, and the match was a seesaw match that saw both men maintain considerable lengths of control.  In the end, Hollywood attempted a huge superkick, but Drake ducked and the referee took the brunt.  Therefore, both men were permitted to do anything they wanted to do, except get a three count.  Drake dropped Hollywood with plastic knuckles, no count, and a flying elbow, no count.  Then, Hollywood hit his Dominator, no count, and another before the referee regained his senses enough to count a pinfall.  After the match, Hollywood gave Drake a quick fitting in the dress before Drake awoke to a whole new low for his career.

Before the main event, "Triple XXX" Lawrence Tyler took the mic and apprehended the entire show as he explained to everyone why he was Arizona's greatest living wrestler.  He has won the IZW World championship three times, the IZW Tag Team championship twice, and the Western States championship.  Even beyond championships, LT said that he has beaten everybody who was anybody in the Arizona wrestling scene: Mike Knox, Navajo Warrior, Derick Neikirk, Hawaiian Lion, Jack Bull, etc.  However, there was one name he forgot, and that man was quick to remind him.  Lil' Nate came out to a rousing ovation in his first IZW appearance since January.  LT asked Nate what he was out there to do, and Nate offered a handshake to give peace a chance.  LT gripped his hand and threatened Nate's livelihood, to which Nate responded with an attempted Size 11 Waffle, but LT bailed out of the ring, proclaiming himself greatest wrestler in Impact Zone Wrestling history.  There is only one place we are going to find out who the greatest wrestler in IZW is, and that is inside the ring.

The main event saw IZW Tag Team champions Bump 'N' Grind face "The Eclipse" Matthew Kraven and his chosen partner Judo Jimmy Daniels.  In the past couple shows, Kraven has pinned both champions, but Bump 'N' Grind is worth more than the sum of its parts.  The match started as a bedlam, but the champions came out with the edge.  The challengers turned the match around, trapping Erica D'Erico and cutting the ring off for the majority of the match.  After several minutes of taunting Bump 'N' Grind for not being able to make a tag, Judo and Eclipse saw their advantage fall apart in a split-second when Erica countered a superplex with a modified Sunset Bomb.

The champions made a long-awaited tag, and Morgan rolled through both challengers.  She hit Matthew Kraven with a butterfly suplex, but Judo made the save.  Erica came back in to take Judo out of the ring, which enabled Morgan to hit a Samoan Drop, but Kraven kicked out.  Bump 'N' Grind tagged out for the Sidewinder, but Judo tripped Erica up on the top rope, then the challengers hit Morgan with a sidewalk DDT double-team.  However, Morgan was no longer the legal member; instead Erica D'Erico caught both men with a flying cross body block off the top rope for a pinfall.

After the match, Matthew Kraven and Judo Jimmy Daniels bickered with the referee, having not seen the final tag between the champions, as well as with each other, but Erica D'Erico and Morgan retained the IZW Tag Team championships fair and square as Impact Zone Wrestling began its fourth year at The Sets!
