This year's commencement marks the 70th anniversary of Queens College's existence. Since 1937, our college has provided a top-notch education for some of the lowest tuition rates in the country. In recent years, people have begun to question whether QC truly offers as good an education as any of the top colleges in the United States.

Recently, The Knight News was informed that our budget for the 2007-2008 academic year would be cut by a whopping $2,000. Last year, our budget was increased from $11,000 to $18,000. Moreover, according to elements within the Student Life Office, the initial cut intended was that of $4,000, and only after pressure did the budget committee agree to the lesser cut.
