DSA THREATENS LAWSUIT OVER ALLEGED FRAUDULENCE

The Elections Committee and Academic Senate have yet to certify the elections. In recent developments, Joshua Rubin, the presidential candidate for the Democratic Student Alliance (DSA), is insisting that the electoral process was fraudulent due to UP's use of altered sample ballots, which excluded DSA candidates.

Metropolitan Food Service Inc. is well into its second semester as the campus' food service provider, selling food and drinks to students in the Dining Hall, Science Building café, library kiosk and Student Union. With their temporary one-year contract due to end this spring, the question remains as to whether or not they will continue their services into the next semester, or if the campus will be welcoming a new vendor in the fall.

Following the massacre at Virginia Tech on Monday, April 16, which left 33 people dead, students and administrators nationwide are considering their own college's counseling and security procedures.
Especially important on any campus is the administration's policy of handling problematic students who are referred to counseling departments.

On Saturday, April 21, 2007, the 8th Annual Black Cultural Arts Series were held at the Kupferberg Center of Queens College. This event, made possible by Time Warner Cable of New York and New Jersey, featured three-time Grammy Award-winning and legendary jazz vocalist Nancy Wilson.

• Miriam Ginzberg, 22, an honors chemistry major in her junior year at Queens College has won the prestigious Goldwater Scholarship. Named for former Arizona Senator Barry Goldwater, the national program recognizes outstanding math, science and engineering sophomores and juniors.
