  Dammam Port implements SaudiEDI
Article Image With the start of 2007, SaudiEDI services have been successfully launched in king Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.
An import cargo manifest was sent from a shipping agent through the SaudiEDI portal to the port's customs and was successfully accepted by it's system.
In the near future, more documents will be included in the electronic exchange services of SaudiEDI in Dammam port, like the import declaration and delivery order.
Jeddah Islamic port was the first Saudi port to implement the system more than a year ago. Now all import cargo documents are exchanged electronically between the shipping agents, the custom brokers, the customs department, the Ports Authority and the port operating companies. Export documents are currently in implementation.

SaudiEDI’s focus is to streamline and automate the international trade cycle for the trading community in Saudi Arabia, resulting in significant savings in terms of time, money and resources for government and businesses.

SaudiEDI offers many electronic services for the import trade that facilitate the submission of Import Manifest, Delivery Order Management, Import Declaration and the reconciliation report for containerized cargo.

And to extend the benefits of electronic trade services, SaudiEDI introduced export services, such as the Export Manifest Submission and Export Declaration.

With the Import Manifest Submission service, Shipping Agents can submit manifest data electronically and conveniently from the comfort of their own offices to multiple parties including the Customs Department, Ports Authority, Coast Guards, and Ports Contractors. The manifest data submitted can then be reused to issue and file delivery order effortlessly through the Delivery Order Management service.

Through the Import Declaration service, the manifest data can also be reused electronically by Customs Brokers and Importers to file their import declaration submissions.

SaudiEDI was founded by the Public Investment Fund under the Ministry of Finance.
